How long does the ferry from Sassnitz to Rønne take?
Exactly 3 hours 20 minutes. Our archive holds fifty sailings from Sassnitz between 19 Aug and 18 Oct 2026, and every one of them shows that crossing time. Bornholmslinjen publishes the same figure.
Does the Sassnitz–Rønne ferry run all year?
No. The last sailing in our archive is 18 October 2026; daily queries for 19 October onwards return nothing, while the year-round Ystad line still has sailings on those same days. That fits the operator's season table, in which the shoulder season ends on 18 October. We have no data for 2027 — our timetable source does not yet carry that year even for the year-round Ystad line. In winter, reach Bornholm via Ystad or Køge.
What time does the ferry leave Sassnitz?
At 11:50, arriving in Rønne at 15:10. On Saturdays there is a second sailing at 14:30 arriving 17:50. Returning, Rønne departs at 08:00, plus 10:00 on Saturdays. Which weekdays are served changes through the season: daily except Tuesdays in August, only Thursday, Saturday and Sunday by October.
How much does the ferry to Bornholm from Germany cost?
There are two kinds of price and they are not comparable. For the Sassnitz line Bornholmslinjen publishes vehicle tickets including up to five people: Lowprice from DKK 699, Flex from DKK 999, Standard from DKK 2,599 (as of 24 Aug 2026, for cars up to 1.95 m high). Separately, our archive holds 48 per-person fares from Sassnitz between €21 and €70, averaging €39.70; from Rønne, 46 values between €21 and €133, averaging €56.20. We deliberately show no price calculator on this page: no foot-passenger tariff is published for the Sassnitz line, so no defensible vehicle supplement can be derived.
Can I buy a ticket at the port in Sassnitz?
No. Sassnitz is an unstaffed port; under the conditions of carriage neither cash payment nor ticket purchase at the check-in machines is possible there. Book online beforehand. Boarding without a valid ticket carries a control fee of DKK 750. The PayZapp number-plate payment is no help either — it can only be set up for Danish and Swedish vehicles.
When do I need to be at the port?
Check-in for the Sassnitz line must be completed twenty minutes before departure — completed, not merely arrived at the port. The deadline is thirty minutes for electric cars with a reserved charging slot, disabled-adapted vehicles, foot passengers entitled to assistance, and lorries and road trains.
